Artbeat, the Clarendon Park Community Arts Festival, has just come to an end. Christchurch hosted the launch event last Friday, and three classical concerts, on Saturday lunchtime with Marika, Sunday afternoon with the Knighton Chamber Orchestra and Tudor Chior, and Monday lunchtime with musicians from the University of Leicester. During Lent members of the church collected their small change for the Water Aid “Jars of Change” appeal. The organisers were hoping to raise £250, to pay for a locally manufactured rope pump in Ethiopia. When all the jars were counted the amazing sum of £580 had been raised!
