The pictures speak for themselves! We had a wonderful service of praise and rejoicing this evening when Laura and Dave were baptised. With family and friends there as well as the church family, and led by the band, it was a service to remember.
It was nice to come in out of the cold this lunchtime and have a hot meal in Christchurch at the ‘Lunch Aid’ event in aid of Action for Children. There were also stalls selling homemade cakes, Traidcraft fairly traded goods, a tombola, children’s books, clothes… All the hard work of the cooks, servers and others was greatly appreciated.
Next Sunday (22nd) at our evening service Laura and Dave will be baptised by total immersion. This is an exciting and joyous occasion, which doesn’t happen as often as we would like!
Last Sunday we held a commemoration as part of the WW1 centenary. Our Remembrance Sunday service today was led by Mr John Aldridge. John is a local preacher and also a Deputy Lieutenant of Leicestershire. There was a wedding at Christcurch last Saturday between Sophie Kinchington and Ben Corrigan. Sophie’s mum was a member of Christchurch when Sophie was a young girl in the playgroup (which is still running). They will be making their future life together in Australia.
