The main driving force behind our recent weekend at Willersly Castle was Bethan, aged 13. Nearly 2 years’ ago she started badgering her parents (and others) to have a weekend away and this was the result. Here’s what she has to say:
“On Friday 20th February 40 of us folks arrived at Willersley Castle hotel in Derbyshire. On Friday evening some of the more energetic guests had a quick swim in the pool onsite then we had a delicious dinner followed by games and catching up with friends some that we hadn’t seen for a long-long time. On Saturday morning we all sat down to a full English/continental breakfast, after that many went to local villages such as Matlock or Cromford. Next was lunch and then an afternoon walk, we definitely needed one after all the food we had eaten! After a game of ping-pong or perhaps a quick nap, we again had another yummy 6 option- 3 course meal! Many joined in with the evening entertainment of a 6 round quiz and a lot of fun was had by all. Sunday consisted of another superb breakfast and then we joined together for a morning service, followed by an amazing Sunday roast and then time to say goodbye and off home.
I hope everyone who came had a fabulous time and those who didn’t but wish they had may join us in the future. I wanted to say a big thank you to everyone for making this weekend that I have wanted for what seems like eternity, possible. We hope to plan another one in the near future……..!”
