2 Corinthians 5:17. Therefore if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things become new.
Square peg in a round hole. We have all heard that before. Do you try to fit into the same pants you wore when you were five years old? Of course not. Can you wear the same shoes that you wore when you were ten? Probably not. Why? Because you have grown since then, and you are a much bigger size like everyone would expect you to be. So why is it that you are still “wearing” the same size as 5, 10, or 20 years ago in your Christian life? You have not grown any but are happily stuck in place. It is not that God has not tried to get you a bigger size, but you have resisted, and you are stuck.
Moving forward with God is a daily pushing of the envelope, of the norm and going with what God wants and not what is safe. If we got up every morning, looked to God, and said, “Here I am, dressed and ready for whatever and wherever you want God,” WOW, what a difference we could make in the world. Being a new person in Christ means putting away the old man daily and preparing for the new man’s assignments every day. You cannot hold on to yesterday’s form because it will not fit into today’s assignment. It is the classic; trying to fit a round peg in a square hole will not work. God says that His mercies are renewed every morning (Lamentations 3:23), so we have to be ready for the new day, the new assignment in the work of God.
We are not the same today as yesterday, and as we will be tomorrow, we cannot fit today into yesterday’s mould. Every day is different with 24-hours of different situations and circumstances; we have to be ready to go with God.
Be the one ready for the will of God.
Blessings always +
