The church is now registered for same-sex marriages

We are pleased that following a decision of the Church Meeting by a large majority, Christchurch is now registered for conducting the marriage of couples of the same sex.

After the vote in the Church Meeting Revd Debra led the meeting in prayer. Revd Liam stressed the importance of making space for one another and accepting our differences. He reminded the meeting that the church already lives with different understandings of doctrine, such as the meaning of the atonement and the rite of infant baptism.

Any couple wishing to be married in Christchurch should contact our minister, Rev. Kate Cook, via the contact page or on 07801 064 750.
