Welcome Service

Christchurch was packed yesterday evening for a service welcoming two new ministers to the Methodist Circuit – Rev Jenny Impey and Rev Edson Dube. The service was led by the new District Chair, Rev Helen Cameron and also marks the amalgamation or the Leicester Trinity and Leicester North Circuits.

clipartThe Methodist connexional year starts in September and this year heralds several changes. The Leicester Trinity Circuit of which we are a part has amalgamated with the Leicester North Circuit, making a new circuit of 20 churches, with six ordained ministers. Two new ministers have joined the Circuit, Rev Jenny Impey and Rev Edson Dube, who will be the superintendent minister and also our minister at Christchurch. We are very much looking forward to his ministry amongst us and also give thanks for the ministry of Rev Fran Rhys over the last three years. Although she will longer be our minister at Christchurch she is still in the circuit, serving other churches.

The service was led by the Chair of the Northampton District, Rev Helen Cameron, who is also new, having just taken up this appointment, and over 200 people turned out for the occasion. All-in-all a very joyous evening.
