Sunday Services

Normal service times are 10.00am in morning and 6.30pm in the evening. There may be changes to this schedule for special occasions. Refreshments are served after both morning and evening services (in the evenings there is sometimes pizza or trifle or something else tempting!) There is a Traidcraft stall after the morning services, selling fairly produced goods.

Morning worship

Worship Centre

There is a service in the worship centre every Sunday morning, led by one of our own ministers, by one of the other Methodist Circuit ministers, or an accredited local preacher.

The Space

The Space gangThe Space is a relaxed, informal service, held in the morning on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month, at the same time as the service in the worship centre. It follows a “Café Church” style with things to do and discuss, and a band to accompany the singing. It is usually led by Rev. Paul Richards or members of the Space team. The dates are given in the sidebar to the right.

Evening Worship

Worship the Lord in the Beauty of Holiness
Evening services incorporate a blend of various Christian arts: music, singing, drama, meditation, dance, film and preaching and are led, most weeks, by our lay minister John Fowler. During October into January the services will be exploring the Ten Commandments, looking at a different one each week. A new series starts in February with the theme “Scripture that Inspires”. Note the dates on the right when there is no evening service at Christchurch.

Ground up – foundations for living

Ground up in CostaGround up is a Café Church held on the second Sunday evening of every month at 6.00 in Costa Coffee on Queen’s Road. This is a new venture which started in June. Junior Church

Whatever is happening on Sunday mornings children are always catered for. Junior Church offers an opportunity for children to learn about the Christian faith through craft, story telling and Bible reading. All our Junior Church leaders are CRB checked. If you are visiting with children, they are welcome to join Junior church or to stay in the service with you. There is also a play area in the church which you can use.
