An Introduction to Christchurch

Who we are

Christchurch is a Local Ecumenical Partnership formed when Clarendon Park Methodist and Baptist churches came together in the early 1990’s. We are part of the Methodist Connexion and the Leicester Trinity Circuit as well as the East Midlands Baptist Association and the Baptist Union of Great Britain; but most of the time we paddle our own canoe.

There are over 200 people attached to the church in one capacity or another; ages range from 1 – 101 and we all get on together very well.

What we believe

Whilst we subscribe to the traditional statements of faith of the Christian Church, and whilst faith is very important to us, there is also a broad range of views on most subjects within the fellowship. We think this is a strength – encouraging people to think for themselves and have the freedom to take part in informed debate rather than being told what they should believe. But we do have some core values: -
