Christian Aid Week

Christian Aid Week was, as usual in the middle of May. Many volunteers from Christchurch went out to our allotted streets, delivering envelopes and knocking on doors. The result of all this work was £1632.08, an increase of £240 on last year. Does this say something about the economic state of the country, or that so many crises around the world are in the news these days? The money raised this year is going to Christian Aid’s partners in Ethiopia to support their work in rural communities. But just as important perhaps is that the door-to-door collecting across the country is a gentle reminder of the presence of Christ.
